Professor Smith graduated from Cedarville University with degrees in student ministry and Christian education. He then earned a master’s degree in theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the lead pastor at Compass Bible Church South Valley in Kuna, Idaho.

Professor Smith is married to Mackenzie, and they have two children: their daughter Ebeny and son Wesley.
