Compass Bible Institute is grateful to share that Dr. John Goodrich, our Dean of Academics, has been appointed to a faculty and leadership role at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. After serving CBI since 2020, he leaves a lasting mark on our students, and we rejoice with him in this new calling.
Compass Bible Institute Celebrates the Class of 2026
Eighteen graduates. One commencement. Congratulations to the Compass Bible Institute Class of 2026, including fourteen One-Year Bible Program students, two Bachelor of Biblical Studies graduates, and two Biblical Counseling Certificate recipients. The church is better equipped because of their faithfulness.
One-Year Bible Program Spring Trip: Walking in the Footsteps of Paul
This spring, CBI students followed the footsteps of the Apostle Paul across Greece and Italy, from Philippi and Athens to Corinth and Rome. Led by Dr. John Goodrich, the study trip brought the pages of Acts to life on location and reshaped how students read the New Testament.
Four CBI Students Earn the Master of Divinity from Southern Seminary
Four CBI students, Roi Brody, Elvis Illescas, Drew O'Connell, and Nathan Yovichin, have earned their Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Their road began at Compass Bible Institute, and we are grateful for our partnership with Southern and for the doors it opens for those called to ministry.
CBI Connects with Future Students at Reality Apologetics
Compass Bible Institute recently attended the Reality Apologetics Student Conference, hosted by Stand to Reason, where students, families, and ministry leaders gathered to think carefully about the Christian faith. CBI hosted a booth, connected with future students, and shared opportunities for biblical training through the One-Year Bible Program and our other CBI programs.
One-Year Bible Program Student Preaches in Chapel
A new tradition is taking shape at Compass Bible Institute. For the second year in a row, a One-Year Bible Program student preached in chapel, with Dylan Oakley opening James 1:22–25 and calling his peers to be doers of the Word. It was a clear picture of CBI’s goal: students not just learning Scripture, but living it out.
Compass Bible Institute at ETS Far West
Compass Bible Institute was represented at ETS Far West at The Master’s Seminary, where pastors, professors, and students gather for evangelical scholarship. Three faculty members and one student presented research in biblical studies and theology, reflecting CBI’s commitment to training men and women to interpret Scripture faithfully and serve the church.
