A Night of Gratitude at the 2026 Candlelight Gala

On Monday, September 14, friends of Compass Bible Institute gathered at Franciscan Gardens for the 2026 Candlelight Gala. It was an evening of fellowship, worship, music, and remarkable generosity, all in support of training the next generation of Christians to know the Word, defend the faith, and serve the church.

An evening centered on the mission

CBI President Dr. Mike Fabarez opened the evening with a welcome and prayer. After dinner, Dr. Fabarez and Provost Dr. Mark Kelley shared a report on the work God is doing through CBI, from the One-Year Bible Program to the Pastoral Ministry Training Program to the many students taking courses while they work and serve in their churches.

Music, auctions, and hymns

Composer Grant Fonda led a Candlelight Concert that set the tone for the night. Auctioneer Justin Van Schoick led a lively live auction, and guests took part in a raffle and silent auction featuring items donated by friends of the institute. The evening closed with a final invitation from Dr. Fabarez and the singing of two beloved hymns, Great Is Thy Faithfulness and Be Thou My Vision.

Thank you

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended, hosted a table, donated an item, bid, or served as a volunteer. Your generosity helps keep a CBI education affordable and makes it possible for more students to spend a year, or a lifetime, in the Word.

If you were unable to attend and would like to support CBI students, you can give online at any time.
